Safety comes before the schedule
A safe trip is the only kind of on-time trip that counts. Here is how we run ours.
How we run safely
Inspections on every trip
Drivers complete a full pre-trip and post-trip inspection and report defects right away. A truck with a safety defect does not leave the yard.
Hours of service with ELDs
Every truck runs a certified electronic logging device. Dispatch plans loads around legal driving hours, not the other way around.
Preventive maintenance
Trucks and trailers are serviced on a fixed schedule: brakes, tires, lights, reefer units and securement equipment are checked before they become a problem.
Driver training
New drivers go through orientation and a road test. Ongoing training covers winter driving, mountain grades, cargo securement and defensive driving.
